Request for semi-companion Imp

Hentai who makes a lot of armour mods, asked if he could use my Tarana mod. He's created a new creature mesh and texture and replaced my imp with it.

I said he could as long as credit is given which he said he would anyway. So you may prefer whatever it turns out to be. I haven't a clue and I didn't think to ask. :rolleyes:

 

Anyway, I''ll get Slof's files together and upload them soon. There might be an adjustment needed but it's very good, as expected. :smile: The imp has blue eyes and lovely transparent wings. I got a close up screenie of it baring it's teeth. And nice white ones they are too... :D

 

It's funny I never notice the anims on creatures that just want you dead until they are pacified. The imp has a few animations that were unexpected. Like turning it's head and facial expressions etc.

I had to use the "platform" I made where the items are because originally I used a huge rock on the other side of the waterfall, but everything just kept falling through or flying off into the water.

I just thought I'd share this,

 

I have created a companion imp before, for myself to follow me around everywhere. I did it by following the CM Partners guide on minions.

 

I thought it was pretty cool having my little pet imp... but after awhile of constantly hearing it's wings flapping everywhere I went ~ that got old!

 

I thought I'd bring it up, as you may enjoy your pets company more if you remove the wing flap sound effect from it.

I scarcely hear the flapping in this mod I like it the way it is, Besides Tarana is now safely tucked away in my archmage's room so she won't get hurt.

Thanks for the info... :biggrin: But I have the purring sound to replace the wing flapping in one esp. I agree the wings flapping gets really old very quickly. the purring isn't so obvious unless you're right next to the impling and it has a generous follow distance to compensate for that. I can shorten it.

I have plans to extend this mod so who knows what I may come up with. :ohmy:

 

The other esp has the purring in the script so it only happens when you activate the impling and not at other times. I did two esp(s) so there was the choice.

However, the wing flap is still in that one so I will look at removing it if the CS will let me have no sound for that idle.

I think it will but I'll have to look into it. :)

I haven't heard any more from Hentai except to thank me for allowing him to use my mod. I assumed he was going to upload it here but maybe it's for the Japanese community.

 

I'm glad you like Tarana. As I said in the above post I have plans to extend the mod...not sure exactly how yet but it has possibilities.

Those new textures look great. Now its getting difficult again... choices, choices to make :blink:

 

I liked the background on Tarama you put in btw. The former pet of a spoiled princess and picking a location where it could overlook its surroundings and find birds. If you extend this mod further maybe you could also do some more story.

 

Maybe you have to find several pieces of a mechanical instrument, now scattered around the land, that was once owned by that ancient king, the father of the princess. There could be a secret, a connection between the instrument and Tarana. Is there more to it then just an impling who likes music? What happens when you find all parts and get the instrument to play? Some sort of magic? Perhaps its an eleborate kind of message in a bottle send from all those eons ago.

 

Well ok, I just like to make up stories like that. :P But perhaps it'll give you some ideas. Anyway keep us posted! Im eager to find out how it evolves.

That's a really nice idea, Sheralynn. But I would probably use sheet music as the elements to be found. I'm not sure there's anything in the CS to represent pieces of an instrument but I can be inventive. It wouldn't have to actually be pieces of an instrument, I suppose.

 

I have an idea regarding the player being able to play music to the imp if I can make it work and find suitable wave files. I was thinking flute or pipe sounds but I haven't found anything I like yet....preferably free.. :ermm:

There is a mod that features a lute but I'll have to look into permissions to use it.

 

I can extend things a lot by using Shivering Isles assets but if people don't have SI it will be a problem.

However, I did this mod at your initial request and then myrmaad and Graewolph so if you three have SI then it's all I really need to know. :yes:

 

I haven't even started any mods for SI. I keep forgetting I have it installed until I see the items in the CS. I haven't visited there for awhile either. :no:

This is amazing. I saw this thread last week and thought it sounded like fun! Just this morning my son came to me asking if I could help him make an Imp companion!! And you already have it done!

 

Great work! Can't wait to see what else comes of Tarana!!
