UlrikS
I am working on a retexture of the Gatling Laser/Venegance, but i don't want it to overwrite all Gatling Lasers. So how can i make it so that the retexture is only attached to a new item with it's own ID, instead of all the Gatling Lasers. xxxHACKERxxx
You have to change the FormID numer with one of your choiche with the Fallout Mod Manager You have to enter an exadecimal code (Numbers and ABCDEF letters) that is not used by other object; if you are using the FOMM plugin editor open Fallout3.esm, press Ctrl+F, check FromIds, and type your code, if is not found you can use it. Baelkin
This tutorial pretty much tells you what to do to make new items that don't overwrite old ones. While it isn't very explicit on all stages, it does cover the basics of how to do it. If you are making a new texture for the Gatling Laser, I think the best approach would be using the original Gatling Laser entry in the weapons group (using the FOMM plugin Editor and opening Fallout3.esm) and copying it to your own, new plugin (create a new plugin and setting the Master file is explained here). Other than that, following the rest of the tutorial should pretty much help you achieve what you want to do. Hope this helps you out.
