Moving parts using x y z translation in nifscope help please

Hi, I'm trying to edit an armour part in Nifscope using the x y and z axis translation in the editing window. I can clearly see the part moving and I press the "accept" button and the box closes. But in game the part has not moved, even though in Nif it had. What am I doing wrong? Please help, thanks in advance.
