diegoaccord
So I am re-making a mod that I attempted. This changes an existing NPC to a full custom character. I did the same thing to an NPC in Fallout 4 as a mod, and it worked as expected with no need for tutorials. I pretty much did the same thing for SSE, which looked good and seemed correct on my game, so I uploaded the .esp. Others were getting dark head, and since I also have an XB1 I uploaded it for that, and saw issues. I found out the process for SSE is not the same as F4. In F4, I go into CK, make edits to NPC, make preset in looksmenu, rip face to NPCID, save it in CK, get a perfectly working mod. Others even made videos of the mod working fine. For SSE my original method was edit in CK, do vanilla sliders, make the hair dependent on a mod, and character uses your textures. But it wasnt so simple. In SSE its way more complicated than F4, and apparently LE. So after going through a bunch of tutorials, and having to take bits and pieces from them (as they all seem to diverge from what I was doing) I have the correct head in nifskope,(in V2 of this mod, Im using a racemenu preset) but I don't have my tintmask it seems, as the characters skin isn't the shade it should be nor is there makeup. I dont see the makeup tint in my tintmasks, unless its somewhere else, and I need to have nifskope recall it. The morph and hair are correct. That seems to be the last issue with the head. The other issue is getting it in the game. When I start the game, the character has the CK stat changes, but a vanilla styled head and hair. If I edit the character the nif for the esp will become the vanilla style one. Upon searching for the various (common) issues I had, it seems like way more people give up than finish a character in SSE. Insanity.
