iDWr3Ck
How ya doing everyone, my name is Derek, and I am obviously new to these forums. I have lurked because the thought of games with mods has always intrigued me. The problem was my computer is pure trash. Anyways I finally got enough money together and ordered me some parts to build. I just want some advice on what you guys personally think about the components. Thanks in advance for any replies. It is much appreciated. Dan3345
Is this your first computer build? You did pretty well. Everything looks good, you picked nice components and should play games relatively well. Congrats and welcome to the forums!

And thanks man, I took a lot of time researching the components. I am kind of OCD when it comes to those types of things. I appreciate the feedback! kalikka
850w PSU is overkill even for SLI, I recommend a good 450-550w if you are only going to use 1 GPU. Should save some cash that way.XFX 550w, super flower golden green pro/modular, etc. And for the GPU, I recommend something with a better cooler. (asus) DCII, (gigabyte) windforce, etc. are good coolers. And for CPU coolers, I would recommend Macho HR-02 but I dont know where you live --> availability is a big ? And I actually beg to differ, reference coolers are IMO better than dual fan coolers. 1. They don't blow air into the case. 2. In SLI setup's hot air is pushed out so the GPU's aren't choking on each others heat (this requires good case air flow too) 3. EVGA's warranty is not void if you remove the heatsink/mod the card/overclock/water cool. IN short, EVGA cards are for the modder types IMO. Anyways even if you are doing none of these things I haven't noticed my EVGA card being too loud. 6 series Nvidia cards are relatively cool and quiet. I also don't think having a larger PSU is ever a waste. It opens the door for upgrades or add ons down the road. With that 850 watt he can now get a second 660ti and run two no problem.
