PetiteSnowman
I remember that there was a post talking about how to edit items and make them look like any other item but I can't seem to find it. The post was called how to edit any item and make an item look like another item (I think but I'm not sure). It uses gff4editor, TlkEdit and GDApp. The post says to extract the file using the gff4editor but it says that it's not compatible when I try to extract a UTC file. I have since discovered that it can only extract ERF files but if so how do I extract the UTC file. The specific file is a gen_im_acc_amu_war_a and that file is inside a UTC file. PetiteSnowman
Yep, I think I remembered a random line in the post. I still don't know how to extract UTC files.
PetiteSnowman
Which file do I extract though, do I extract the NCS or do I extract everything? Also, after I edited the file, how do I put it in the override as to not overwrite the original gen00fl_alistair.utc? I use the IA compatible version of the mod so I deleted the gen00fl_alistair.utc file from the original Alistair's Oath mod and the IA mod and replaced it with the IA compatible version that the creator gave. Will any of the editing conflict with any of the files?
DLuf
If you're trying to edit an *item*, you don't have to do anything with ncs or UTC files. By "inside the UTC" you probably meant the item is equipped on Alistair, but if you want to edit the item, then you have to work with the item file itself, which is an UTI file. You want to look for an UTI file with the name "gen_im_acc_amu_war_a" from the mod archive. If the archive is just a zip or dazip then you can just use 7z or winrar to extract it. If the file's inside an ERF file then you can use GFF Editor or pyGFF or the Toolset. As for how to edit the UTI file, personally, I've only ever used the Toolset, so idk about other tools. You don't have to override the original file to use your custom file. If there are two files with the same name in Override, the game will use the file it loads last, so all you need to do is put your file "lower" in Override. However, to avoid confusion it's probably better that you rename the original file somehow, if you don't want to just delete the file. Personally, what I do is delete the extension (UTI, UTC, etc) from the original file's name, or change it to something like UTI.old or UTC.old, leaving the actual file name intact. PetiteSnowman
Never mind, I just used the TklEdit to edit the file inside the original folder. Btw, can I talk about other mods in this post or do I have to make a seperate post on it? Sorry if I'm overbearing I just don't have a lot of experience with modding. PetiteSnowman
I downloaded this mod called Dahlialynns Alistair Epologues - The Royal Wedding and I want to replace the file alistair_scenes_main.ncs with the one in the Complete Bi Overhaul but when I check the folder there are no alistair_scenes_main.ncs. I downloaded the .dazip file using DAupdater but it ends up in a folder called dee and I know that is the wedding folder is because the sound files have alistair_wedding_guard.fev/fsb files in them. Besides those files, there are files called dee_modcore in the data file in the core file. In the module file, there is a file called dee.cif, wedding.fev and wedding_bank00.fsb in the audio file of the module file and in the data file there is a dee_module in there but there is no file called alistair_scenes_main.ncs. Did I do something wrong while installing the mod?

PetiteSnowman
Thanks for the explanation. I'm still relatively new to modding so don't know what I'm doing. I'll be sure to post on whether the overhaul thing works.
