Companion-oriented house mod

Looking for a sizable house/fort mod which has plenty of room and is in fact oriented towards large numbers of companions.

I've actually been looking for the same kind of home, unfortunately it seems my perfect follower home has yet to be made but in my searching I have run across a number of homes that come close so maybe one of these will suit you:

 

Candle Pond Ranch

 

This is was the first home I found for my followers and I and the main one I've used for a good amount of time. It has beds on the ground floor for about 9-10 followers and a lot of chairs in the living area for followers to sit in, you normally won't find your followers standing around not doing anything, plus about 99% of the decorations are static so you won't have to worry about your followers knocking food and dishes all over the place.

 

The down sides to this home are 1) Although it was designed with lots of followers in mind, it's not big enough for what I want, things start feeling crowed once I got about 20 followers in there. 2) There seem to be some navmesh issues or something, the followers walk around just fine but for some reason my followers seem to teleport around the house at time, I've seen some of my followers in the living area, then walked to the back of my house to find the same follower back there waiting for me. It may not be navmesh at all though, it could be a side effect of having so may static objects in the home, I don't know. 3) Not enough displays for my weapons and armor, this is my personal preference, I'm a hoarder and that may be why I have a hard time finding the ideal home for my followers and I, I can't find the right balance of display areas and follower space.

 

Dovahkiin Temple - Sanctuary

 

A good choice for a fortress home, lots of space for followers to walk around and relax in and has ample displays for weapons and armor but has a few issues. 1) Framerate takes a hit while inside and it's not a problem with my PC I assure you, several people have mentioned framerate issues in this home. 2) No beds for your followers to sleep in but this is just me nitpicking. 3) Mod is incomplete and the author has not updated in some time so who knows if he'll ever come back to it. 4) Has some navmesh issues but again the mod is incomplete.

 

Skyrim Adventurers Tent

 

A summonable and very roomy tent, it did start feeling a bit cramped once I got about 20 followers in there but was still bearable, it's defiantly worth a try, in my opinion this is the best choice if you want a portable follower home, a few issues. 1) Not a huge amount of display space but more then you might expect in a tent. 2) You need to bring your followers into the tent to dismiss them if your using "my home is your home", if you set the inside of the tent to a followers home and then dismiss them outside of the tent they will stand around, not knowing were to go (since the entrance to the tent is movable) but this isn't a big issue considering you can summon the tent anywhere, even indoors. 3) I haven't tested it but I hear it might have some issues with Extensive follower framework, I use Amazing Follower Tweaks so I can't say.

 

Rorikstead Knight Mansion

 

If you're just looking for a large home for followers to live in then this place works well, the inside is Dragon's Reach remodeled a bit, my 20 some followers had no problems fitting in here but this place has one glaring flaw, a lack of storage space outside of the master bedroom, the crafting area has barely any place to store materials,you need to run upstairs and into another cell if you want any decent amount of storage space so I personally wouldn't use this as a player home but if you just want a home for your followers to hang out in this can work well. (You could always set up the adventurers tent in the home and use that as your crafting/storage area if you wish I considered going that route for a while)

 

Sleeping Tree Sanctuary

 

I decided to try this place out today and I honestly wish I had tried it sooner, my 20+ followers have no problems at all in here in fact I could probably fit 40 or so followers in here before it will start feeling crowded I highly recommend trying it I'm planning to pack up and move out of Candle Pond and settle in here, just remember to get the Follower Friendly add-on otherwise your followers can't follow you up there. This place isn't perfectly what I'm looking for but it's still damn good, my main issues are 1) Again not as much display space as I would like. 2) No beds for followers but I've decided to deal with it. 3) Amazing Follower Tweaks doesn't seem to recognize it as a home. Let me clarify, AFT has a feature that lets you set 2 outfits for your followers and standard outfit and a city outfit (that way if you wish your followers will wear regular cloths when you're in cities or player homes instead of wearing armor all the time) however my followers don't put their city outfits on when inside Sleeping Tree Sanctuary, so something about the place doesn't register to AFT as a home in that regard, this isn't just a problem STS has as a few player homes I've downloaded also had the same problem.

 

Also be advised the transport airship in STS isn't follower friendly so if you use it you're followers won't be with you when you arrive at your destination, it's not a big issue for me since AFT has a feature that teleports my followers to my location when I draw my weapon so if I use the airship I just need to take my weapon out and my followers pop up.

 

But all in all so far I think I like Sleep Tree Sanctuary the best of all the ones I've listed even if it isn't perfect, hope that this helps you find one you like.
