Creating Scripted Items

Can anyone tell me what all (how much work) would be involved in creating a set of scripted armor/weapons for oblivion that would start out with a set values for stats/enchantments and would automatically alter (increase) those stats/enchantments every time the player levels up until they reach their maximum strength? Is this possible? How much work would go into doing this?

 

And if anyone could point me in the right direction for learning how to do this, or give me any tips / information about this I would appreciate it.

 

The idea here is i'm trying to create sortof like a game "mode" type of mod for oblivion in which the character starts off with a full set of items made just for that character, that stick with the character throughout the game and increase in strength as your character levels up and gets stronger, to keep the game balanced in terms of how difficult combat is.

 

I want this mod to accomplish making the characters progression more, fairytale or storybook like in and that the items are uniquely suited to the character and instead of searching for loot so much its like you start off with the perfect items but the character masters them slowly over length of the story.

 

I am not completely new to modding but I am also not a very experienced modder so, any and all advice/comments/tips are welcome and appreciated.

You could pretty much copy the script, and change the variables to suit your setup (adding to it or subtracting lines as needed.) I'd have to say though, if you want the items to go up with *every* level, that's going take a bit of time and typing...might consider doing it every 3-5 levels or so, not just to save time but to keep the items from becoming too overpowered too quickly.
