Port Oblivion Horses into Fallout3

It sounds good on paper, but running out of fuel in the middle of the wasteland would be a female dog. So I'm gonna have to disagree on that one.

Well, as long as there's a fuel gauge, you can tell how far you can go. Besides, with the wasteland being only 16x16 miles, you've got gas for a good long time.

Then again, all those Corvegas, buses, and other ruined vehicles have nuke batteries, oddly unstable and explosive nuke batteries at that, so why would you need a gas-powered motorcycle? Actually, wasn't the war started (supposedly) over petroleum shortages and the following ownership issues? So where would gas be found/scavenged? Where would a gas-powered vehicle be found to fix up and run anyways? Everything would be fusion, needing only those annoying 10lb fusion batteries.

Besides, 2 Mr. Handy chassis + a pair of handlebars +a set of saddle bags = your mount! Slow but steady, just like Mr. Handy. Only with less plasma and flames. Unfortunately.

You could add ethanol distillers or biodiesel producers that would turn organic material into fuel... Might be a fun little trade to have going on... You could use nuke cells, or some kinda funky radiation collectors that gather energy from contaminated areas...

...But this thread was supposed to be about horses, wasn't it..?

I would be ok with this if gas was commonly found in the wasteland. Also, there would have to be a few refill stations.

I wonder if you could somehow attach the player to the top of an animal controlled by ai, then direct it with a carrot on a string (or an arm on a string, in the mutant horse's case) type setup? Maybe lure it with a long fishing pole with a finger on the end that you'd equip like a weapon? So you're not controlling it directly, but rather influencing the AI's behavior? That way they could get "spooked" and things like that, rather than just basically acting like remote-control...

Well we should stop thinking how large the terrain is. You know we are going to ubberfy this game that is just one part of a state. It will grow in size.

Also, we can't think about traversing terrain in 2008. The only things that are going to work in a lot of the areas are vehicles with treads or 4xdrive vehicles like dune buggies, dirt bikes, ect. Things that levitate, or fly? eh eh. Think alternatives, what kind of crazy stuff would a mad scientist we all know create..hover board hear that good idea, maybe a chocobo. I dunno but use your imaginations.

I have an idea for something I am making that maybe wont affect anything. I had to force myself not to be selfish with this, but there is no greater tool then feedback, duplication, and evolution of an idea. So to it...

f*#@in airship, hot air balloons and jetpacks.. I am working on the models for the airship and the hot air balloon. I the airship and the hot air balloon easier to script since, I plan to have the airship and hot air balloon move via a series of menus and taking control of a wheel or pulleys for the balloon.
