wfandrews
I have just started loading mods for a new game after playing TTW and when I tried to install The Mod Configuration Menu an got an error message saying "An exception occurred in the script." I looked at the details but I really did not know what I was looking at. Some of the details said "System Security Permissions. Environment Permission. So I went to Windows Defender-I'm running Win.10- and permitted Nexus Mod Manager which did not help. I deleted the mod and downloaded it from Nexus, no luck, I manually downloaded it and used Add mod from file, no luck. I have had no problems with the other files I have installed so far just MCM. As I am one of those people who are constantly starting a new game and often uninstall all active mods I have never had this problem before. I googled it but got old posts mostly saying to make sure all your associations are ticked, which they are. I also tried installing running NMM as an administrator which made no difference. I have never had this happen before and really need some help on this. If all else fails I will try installing with FOMM or manually. I am using the GOG version, thought I would mention that in case it made a difference. Discovered the problem; evidently NMM will not install MCM unless nvse is installed. I used FOMM to install the mod and it gave me a warning that nvse needed to be installed or MCM would not work, so the light dawned. I think I will leave a report on github informing the developers of this so maybe they will give an error message like FOMM instead of the error message that NMM does. The error message I got from NMM I really had no idea what the problem was.
