KlinkKlink
Hey, guys. Thanks to the Steam Winter Sale discounts, I am now a proud owner of the Skyrim PC version. With that comes the moral obligation do download mods from everyone's favorite Nexus. Anyway, I'd like to hear from you guys which ones are worth getting. Graphic mods, textures, customization options, new animations, and all that jazz. No player made quests, or anything like that. Essentially, I'd like things that enhance aspects of the vanilla game, without replacing them outright, or get in the way of that gray, gritty atmosphere Bethesda intended. If that makes any sense. Thanks.
Oubliette
I'd suggest going to to the Top Files section of Nexus and picking out what looks good to you. Along the way you might think of something more specific to plug into the search engine or decide to check out the most endorsed mods in various categories. Either way, enjoy your modded play through
Eckss
Anything in the top 100 (non adult) is probably worth your time to look over, it takes a lot of endorsements to get there. Also, check out my singature. ;)Happy Yuletide.Eck.
stars2heaven
As others have said, the top 100 are an excellent place to start. But this site has over 20000 mods on it. I have lots of mods installed that are relatively unknown because they were so small in scope, but are much much better than the equivalent you might find in some of the really popular but much more expansive mods. Look around at some of the alternatives, you might be surprised at what you find. If you do anything at all, take your time. Really look at what it is you are replacing (if it's textures) and decide whether you really like it that way or if there might be something else you like. If it's not textures then take your time checking out that mod for an hour or so before you install another. If you take your time dong this, you will not only end up with a fantastic game but a bug free game because you will have taken your time checking out the mod you just installed and will most likely have found any bugs it causes for you. Not enough people who are new to modding do this and it is more important to making an awesome experience for yourself in skyrim than any mod out there.
