FMod
Don't worry, I wouldn't suggest it if it wasn't enough.Newer cards consume less power. 7870 is rated at 175W max TDP, really consumes 110-150W under heavy load and absolutely tops out at 200W with burn and heavy voltage+ overclock. And as for i5, since you can't seriously overclock non-K ones, it will be well under 100W, probably within 75W. All other parts need 10-25W combined. So that's about 250W of consumption under heavy load. Less than 200W average. Seasonic's S12II-380 is nothing like the average 350-400W PSU, it's not a cheap supply at all. It can do its rated 380W (actually more), and is also quiet even at load, see here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article753-page5.htmlCheap high wattage PSU are much worse, because they'll keep feeding noisy, fluctuating power into the system. Never pick a PSU by wattage, only by the specific model. OCZ500MXSP suggested originally is also a high quality unit, though, but it's got more output capacity than really needed. dejay1788
Once again thanks to all for input. @FMod, thank you very much. I'll really look into that today. I assume you found the parts from Scan?
FMod
Yes, that's on scan.co.uk.You may want to look around for other retailers, maybe somewhere has lower prices.
kalikka
Btw, remember that you can also use your PC as a console (if your old console broke down, or just want to play with real HD graphics).PCSX2 = PS2 emulator.Dolphin = Wii/Gamecube emulator. Love it how you can play your old games with upgraded graphics, as you can boost the resolutions to todays standards. And use undubbed versions of your old games... Still have nightmares about how bad the Star Ocean 2 english dubs were, stopped playing english dubbed jrpg:s after that.
Aegrus
Keep in mind that, whatever cpu you get, Skyrim runs best with two cores. I'm not saying that you should get only a dual core. In fact, I recommend a quad-core. However, you may want to limit your cpu cores specifically for Skyrim, either through your task manager by setting cpu affinity for Skyrim, or there may even be a way to do it through Skyrim's INI.
