Vuanotto Posted May 6, 2020 Share Posted May 6, 2020 Hi all, I'm currently working on a mod that allows legendary items to have up to 3 legendary effects similar to fallout 76 and I want some input into this. Currently the mod already works, legendary enemies to can drop legendary items with a varying number of legendary effects, albeit currently it only shows the name of the legendary effects on the item without describing them. The way it's implemented at the moment is that most vanilla + dlc weapons (including tesla rifle and what not) have a separate legendary version which supports having up to 3 legendary effects to prevent compatibility issues with other mods and also for other reasons which I will state below. First thing I want to ask is: Would you be satisfied with the mod as just described? The next is where I really want input. To match up with what FO76 minus the grindy bits I have three ideas. The first is simple, I intend to add to shop that sells legendary lootboxes based on tiers and item types, e.g. tier 3 gun lootbox would have weapons like tesla rifles, gauss rifles and gatling lasers. Of course these would cost up the ass for balance sake, but it'll be fine if you are just wanting continue a save with probably 10,000s of caps. The second idea is that legendary effects can be removed from items in exchange for scrip, which then can either be exchanged for material used to craft legendary effects or lootboxes as stated earlier. How the crafting would work is thatAs stated earlier, since the weapons have a separate legendary version that support having 3 effects, you would have to receive the desired weapon as a legendary first. E.g. if you wanted to give a tesla rifle legendary effects, you need a legendary tesla rifle to start with.As each legendary slot is a separate attach point, price points for each slot can differ, e.g. first legendary could cost 20 script, second could cost 30 script and the third being 50.This is so that you don't get the most ideal legendary so easily and quickly, good for new playthroughsThe third idea is to have both. It'll probably take one weekend to do the shop, and two to implement crafting just because there are 70+ legendary effects to work through If you got any suggestions, feel free to shoot!
