kagenogetsu
I want to play New California when I am done with new Vegas but I don't want to get rid of everything I currently have for my new vegas play thorugh. So, I want to know if there is a way to create a second install of the game from steam that I can use for new california? If not then I would like to know any other suggestions that might help my situation.
dubiousintent
Steam and GOG points the registry to a specific folder location for the game. You have to maintain that folder location and structure. BUT ... beyond that much depends upon how the mod manager you are using functions. You can, in essence, copy the entire folder elsewhere, duplicating it to preserve the current game and then start a "new game" with FNC in the current "default" folder. This works fine for older managers such as FOMM and Wrye Flash/Bash. (You just copy the contents from one backup folder to the "default" folder as you switch between "games".) The ""empty Data folder" managers such as NMM, MO, MO2, and Vortex work from the "profile" selection of mods to populate the Data folder at run time. You will need to check how yours allows you to copy the plugin selection list from one profile to another. Please note that in all likelihood not all mods you currently are using are compatible with FNC. Check their compatibility list. -Dubious-
instyne49
if you're using Vortex, simply go to profiles and start a new profile. This starts a new game, but with all mods present, but disabled. This starts from scratch. you can use different mods on this profile, for a complete change. You can then switch back and forth between them. You can do more profiles if you want, just to test different mods if you want. If you don't have Vortex I don't know how to do it.
