Can't Turn 'Right' on my Horse

So I killed the bandits at Vilverin and then made my way up to the Inn on the road where the Imperial Legion Officer sits outside with a Bay horse. I grab the horse and of course he comes after me and catches me ON FOOT because I have to walk my horse to get it to turn right. while in a run it doesn't allow me to turn right.

I have no mods that effect horse behavior. Only environmental and personal appearance mods.

Can anyone help?

Just realized that I can't run and strafe right at the same time either. So any time I'm trying to run, using SHIFT+W+D, it doesn't work. I'm going to try a new keyboard but if that doesn't work then something is screwed up in my game.

Horse armor does not play well with some mods. There is an unofficial patch that helps. As to not being able to tun, I have seen that before, but I can't find the reference right now. I will keep looking, and maybe someone else with a better memory will find it first.

I don't think it is a keyboard problem. Possibly disabling the joystick in the ini will help. It might be looking at a non existing joystick for the turn commands.

Also, try 'Steer Horses With Mouse' mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/search.php

This allows you to guide your horse with the mouse instead of keyboard.

Hmmm... that did not work  I don't have a joystick, so that is not it. It works fine without horse armor but once I get the horse armor, won't let me turn at all. :wallbash: Please let me know asap when you find that patch you were talking about.

You may be experiencing something called key jamming (not in the physical sense) on your keyboard. Some keyboards can only handle a limited number of keypresses in certain combinations. It's possible, and I've indeed had this happen, that your keyboard can register Shift + W + A correctly but it registers Shift + W + D as just Shift + W.

I'm surprised nobody suggested that that might be the problem.
