Under sarathal Quest

Hi All

 

When comming to the second part of the mod where you meet Tofdir outside the ruin, and he askes you to enter the ruin with him, i CTD when pressine E to enter. The game goes to load screen, and then CTD. Anyone know of a fix?

 

Just to information its a new game and i used alternate start to start there, so shouldent be the save.

Go back to there. Make a save. Try again. IFF it fails again, try using "Continue game" when you get back to the menu.

 

SOMETIMES, the game will crash at a cell/cell interface (a crypt door to a new area for instance) BUT still transports you to the other side successfully in the game save EVEN THOUGH you just CTD'd, so when you continue, it loads you into the correct environment.

 

Sometimes it just crashes at the cell/cell interface and attempting the transition again (once you've reloaded the game) allows it to go through, for instance, when something else has gone wrong and we incorrectly surmise it was because we were doing "such and such" at "location Z", when in fact the CTD had nothing to do with either.

 

ON the other hand, it could be because of the specific location and specific events, but it's worth a try. The above suggestions have gotten me back to playing more times than I can count.

 

Also, or in addition, or if my suggestion does nothing but increase your frustration level, head on over to the Alternate Start page and check the comments and bugs section. AFAIK there are some patches for that mod (could be wrong, I don't use it, but I recall reading stuff even if I don't remember all the details) , and this issue might have been experienced and solved by others.

Have tryed to contine game, but im just getting the save when im outside Saarthal (my last save). Looked for bugs and found ELFX should load before Alternate satrt, so fixed that too. Unfortently im still crashing when going trough the door.
