Orme
Everyone playing F3 knows that as time passes, the game become increasingly stuttering and laggy.Saving the game ( fullsave, not quicksave ), quitting then relaunching and reloading gives you 1-2 hours of fluid gameplay anew. THEN, I had a crazy, illogical and completely noobish idea. I went to TESnexus, searched for Streamline, downloaded the 2.1 esp ( the one that does not need OBSE nor do put things in your inventory ), put it in F3 and activated it with FOMM.I launched the game ... No errors, warnings or Martian attack of any sorts ...Loaded my save ... OkayPlay, run, jump, shoot, use pipboy, grab, drop, pick up, pick locks ... All seems perfect Now, I'm 3 hours later into the game, with several alt-tabs in between, and the game is still fluid, contrary to before I put Streamline in. It would be interesting if other players out there could try this to see if it does indeed works. Or if I'm just psychologically conditioned by the mere presence of Streamline and it would do the same to hang rabbit legs and stuff to my screen ? :)
AdamV
Didn't work for me. Still have severe memory leak issues in some areas. Though that may be a problem with my video card rather then the game. Apprently the 8600gt has some memory leak problems. What I'd do if I was you is find a place where you're more likely to get slow downs (for example I get alot in fort constatine, go there without streamline to confirm you get slowdowns then go there with streamline and see if there's a difference)
Circuitous
I haven't had any stuttering issues, even with the game running for up to 6 hours with multiple Alt-Tabs, so I must be one of the lucky ones.
SpeedyB64
If this works (I doubt it) it could fix that problem with going to the pip-boy and then exiting the pip-boy and the game suddenly lags badly. I will DL this and test it, since i have this problem often.
prometheos
There are memory leaks, especially when there is a companion. It becomes extreme when the companion can't follow you ( ie. you've jumped from a ledge). If the companion finds the shortest path by exiting your current cell then memory usage can immediately jump 30%. Even when the companion comes back into your cell, the memory is never returned to Windows for re-use. In fact, if you continue to play the game, after this happens, you might get a crash to desktop. My keyboard has a display window and runs a system monitor program that let's me view memory usage. When it gets to 80%, I save the game, stop it and re-launch. This fixes things until the next time.
