Fallout vs Oblivion

I have both Oblivion,Morrowind,Fallout 1,2,3

I still play all the games I stated above except Fallout 3. I didn't even finish the game I bought, around lvl 15 I quit

I wont say it's good or bad or whatever just this, I was bored with the game when I did all the quests except the main and now I'm in Nexus looking for mods

that will give me something to do in the empty wasteland (I'm not a fun of exploration)

I have that same feeling, the feeling of bordem! What is in fallout that causes that? Yes Fallout is square, it looks as it does on the map, although I haven't been to oasis, perhaps I'll change my mind when I see some nice green forest(not). I also agree that fallout with oscuros overhual(hope hes working on one) martigens radroach errotica, and robco certified v987.01 final, enclave comander v68.3 merged w/ enclave mod final, imready's vehicle repair & drive merged with radroach passenger escorts mod ---- will make fallout 3 complete and less square. B.T.W. I have used the geck with my wondering eye's and am lost. so thats a false vehicle mod claim, don't hold me to it. Still fallout is the best better half in graphics , perks, others listed in this forum. I think grumbler was onto something, do you think that perhaps beseda was limited on discisions for the game since they worked with the makers of fallout 1 and 2?

I hadn't meant it to sound rude.

Did not think you were being rude I promise and I just said like the discussion it is a fun one because there are so many minds about it. I apologize if my opinion came across a little strong. No one is prefect.

P.S. I totally agree with you on the nude mod thing WTH is with that.

I would have to say that maybe, in this case, you are looking for the wrong game. FO3 is an exploration game, as the first two Fallout games were not. The mods I have seen have emphasized exploration, not de-emphasized it.

Maybe there is a way to make the fast travel system work when you have not visited a location. That would restore a bit of the old FO feeling, though it would need to include random encounters in the wastelands.

Personally, I think the existing system is a big improvement. The lack of Fallout doesn't come from having to brave the wastelands, but from the lack of consequences to initial, and then later, decisions. If you got greedy in Fallout 2 and obtained the reputation of "gravedigger," that had consequences. I don't like the fact that one can overcome a poor choice in tagged skills in a single round of level-up, and I miss the idea of the town reputation.

I guess most of all, though, I miss the idea in FO1 and 2 that one cannot optimally approach every situation. It was more fun to just say "screw it' and respond to every dialogue choice as one wanted, rather than trying to game the game. Sure, it made people start shooting at you, but you knew the risk (and running away was easier in most cases than fighting it out). In Oblivion and FO3, you can almost see the optimal path with each dialogue choice.

Grumbler I'll fix your vote when we get more, or when I'm bored , for now its 9-5 , fallout ahead by 4.

You are the first person to give an adequat reason not to compare the games, you give a good point about modded oblivion vs. fallout 3 vanilla. becuase vanilla is a bad flavor and I prefere strawberry

Fullspectrum I prefere to have people like you aboard, it add's flavor and fun to the conversation, brings it to new heights and gets others to express opinions they wouldn't otherwise, so thanks for your input, its much appretiated!

I was about to learn the geck script until I realized its familiarity with flash actionscript 2.0, so I'm spending my time learning 3.0 , but I'll still be here in search of new mods for fallout :) and keep everyone posted.

Since its obvious that fallout 3 is better in vanilla ice cream than oblivion, is there someone out there that has played both games but is a die hard oblivi fan?
