ini question

I'm wondering if Skyrim ini files work like some "config" files i've used with other games in that, after the setting you could add "//" and then comment about the setting. So will doing something like this;

 

fInteriorShadowDistance=2400.0000 //determines how far away light sources get drawn indoors//

 

without bothering anything?

A semicolon should tell the parser to ignore the rest of the line.
