Lageron1
In the game, you know next to nothing about your life before skyrim. I would like someone to change that. The Vilja mod (one of the best mods ever), do something like that if you so choose. But would't you like to meet old friends/Enemies/Contacts/parents from cyrodiil who come to skyrim to find/kill or help you.I don't mean that you just meet a person at the inn who says that he or she are your old lover or friend. Give it some choices. Are there anymods for this?
Deleted1308005User
Well, "choices" is the thing which makes this extremely hard. But I think something like this could be done in a bit similar way is was done in Dawnguard. In certain dialogue, you were able to tell something about your parents, and that's where you made the choice:1. You were close, you miss them2. You didn't really know them because you were orphan (or something like that)3. You don't miss them. It's good to be away from them. Dialogue could be made in slightly similar manner.> Meet person in Inn> Starts to talk to you, greets you, and then you can choose how to reply to him/her:1. Person X! My favorite drinking buddy from Cyrodiil! 2. My love! Where have you been! (Implicating it's your wife/husband)3. Oh no it's you. Again. BEGONE ADORING FAN. However, it wouldn't be logical to use same apporach everytime. It'd be a bit weird.I think it'd be quite nice to have something like this, but I'd rather wait for all DLC's to be released, as those might have some more about your past?.. I know about that Dawnguard stuff about the dragonborn's parents (been there, done it) , it would be cool if it were more than one person (from cyrodiil), and how you greeted them (like you said) chooses who they were in your life in cyrodiil. But the most important thing in making a mod like this, would be family (or so im lead to belive anyway). Because, they also has to be same race. And what would happen if your family want to move in? It also needs custom voices since i don't belive Bethesda made "There you are my son/daughter" sounds for the different voices. And the DLC's are good to wait for, i agree (Pleeeeassee say my parents have taken a vacation there)... A mod that shows nearly the same are that you can meet Vilja's Parents (Follower Mod) in Solstheim, or so im told. But finding relatives in such places like Solstheim, would really enhance the game (Mod or not)
Jellye
I felt really disconnected from my character when I started playing, having no sense of backstory or motivation. This is a good request.

Leubast
I had an idea like this a little while ago. Where the answers you made would change your skill levels and starting perks, so you could be a fighters guild member back in Cyrodiil and have experience in heavy armor and One-handed (or however you answered). Stuff like that at the beginning of the game. I like your idea of meeting people you once knew. Here's what I said about a Mod like this:"The idea is that your character is an adult but you have no history other that being stuck between the Stormcloaks and the Empire. How did that happen? Were you some sort of spy? A researcher? A bandit trying to take advantage of the civil war? I was thinking of a mod that after you are asked' date=' "Who are you?" you make your characters appearance then before you are told you are in the wrong place or whatever, another NPC (added in by this mod) asks you questions such as:"What are you doing in Skyrim?""Which of these weapons do you prefer?""How was your childhood?""How much do you know about magic?""Are you a holy person? If so, which god do you worship?""Do you have a family heirloom? If so, what is it?""Do you have combat experience with steel?" Depending on how you answer will determine your starting equipment, skills, perks, and spells. I could do voice acting for the questioner, I just need someone to do the scripting and such. Thank you for taking your time. I hope to improve the immersion and your enjoyment of the game with this mod."[/quote']A mod like this is something we really need for immersion. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Edited January 15, 2013 by Everlive
