123testing
Know of any modding teams, in any? post any you know of here! I was wondering what modding teams were out there, and thought this topic might help, if you can post links to them, websites etc.i can only think of one right now, which is the coloured rooms project, which are aiming to make a whole new land of meridia! But many projects are never finished, which is a shame, but there should be some good ones out in the near future. Vagrant0
You asked to join, but never returned, you never responded to any messages. You would probably be astounded to know just how many people have offered to work on the mod, but never, ever, returned, much less even downloaded the files once they were given access to. And my project probably isn't the only one who seems to have this problem. For a group leader, this is extremely frustrating, and even more so when you see those same people who offered their help just working on other projects, or re-hashing ideas you have already put forth. And likewise, these mods don't ever get very far because there are few people who are actually interested in doing any work for it. The colored rooms is currently at a standstill because the few members we have, have real world obligations which they need to take care of first, myself included. Projects don't get finished because often there are only a few people who do any work, and once they lose interest, or can no longer work on the project, the project dies. If more people were willing to actually work on these projects, they would likely do a better job of getting done. And there seems to be no solution to solving that problem. Sorry if I seem a bit harsh, I see this sort of thing as an insult in that you offered help, showed interest, but did not see it worth your time, much less worth mentioning how you decided not to help afterall. armageddon818
Yeah i somewhat agree with Vagrant, well on everything except his personal feelings about the host. It is just a SHAME that so many mods can never get off the ground and land again safely. Morevover, I know firsthand that many people want to give ideas or critiques (in the earliest of stages) to people's projects so early on that it hurts the vision of that person's mod. Well, I guess that is at least help. Lucky enough for me I got a bunch of people who are interested, for the time being at least. There are times where I am frustrated looking for a balance between this and school, which I seem to care equally about, and almost just want to stop doing this. People are VERY self-oriented, and only think of an idea by themselves and carry it out on their own. Now that isnt a bad thing, except for when EVERYONE does it. There are a TON of great ideas here that just need people to make them happen. If some people dropped their "add a sword" mod and joined a team where perhaps their modeling could be greatly coveted, I think we all would have a lot of great mods to choose from. But yeah, most of the work need for such mods is probably less complicated than that "add a sword" mod. Half the time, about all I need are people who can place items in an interior so that it looks right. Actually, right now, most of the work to be done on my mod is essentially either just cluttering interiors or painting the ground in those spots the region editor missed. This is not to say that there aren't other things needing to be done, but that most of the work needed (time wise) is usually on things anyone with a a few hours a week to spend can do.
