iason
Hey all, I have been scouring Nexus and the Steam Workshop discussion pages and forum threads and mods to find a solution for this bug. My screen goes to black very frequently and then recovers only when I am in interior locations. I don't lose any frame rate or anything. My GPU just stops working and then works and then stops etc. I make it back to an exterior cell and everything is fine again. I have tried adjusting settings. I have turned shadows down to 1 from 512 in my .ini files. I have downloaded shadow and lighting source mods for interiors and done mixes and matches for them hoping that this will alleviate some of the problem. I am running a BFG 9800 GTX OC. Outdoors it runs the game great on medium. Is there anyone else that has experienced this or knows of a hotfix that can help me? Maybe another forum board that could have answers or a link I could have overlooked? I really appreciate any feedback you guys could provide. Thanks in advance. bben46
Have you looked at the temperatures? Different cards react in different ways to overheating. Some show strange video artifacts, some slow way down others just shut down until the cool off. My favorite temp monitoring software - Speedfan: http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpeedFan_d337.html. iason
I guess it could be. It's just odd that it never happens in outdoor locations. If it's a cooling issue, why is it getting too hot in Skyrim and none of my other games and only in indoor cells? There must be something about interiors that I could modify to fix that. I am wondering if it is particle effects that are causing it. Anyone know any good mods or .ini files I can switch to limit those?
