Individual NPC Reputation Builder

I don't know if there is a mod like this, but it would be nice to have one where you can improve your reputation with generic NPC's by giving them something/interacting in a way that they approve.

Of course, many scripted NPC's already do this (get the family sword and he likes you).

But how about "Give a single lady a flower, she speaks in glowing terms, unless she's happily married, etc."

A simple, "I have something for you" that triggers a "give inventory" action.

Some beggars might like a bottle of ale. A smith might appreciate a crafting supply, etc.

The result might be better prices, or better interactions. Maybe giving a guard something means he will look the other way if there is a crime, "because it's you." Some other guards may see it as a bribe and it lowers reputation.

What does everyone think?

I was not aware of that particular mod, but it appears to be all centered on the "Gift of Charity" blessing, which is exactly what I want to move away from.

I thought it would be more interesting if you didn't know what specific NPC's want, and if you give them the wrong thing, they get irritable. Give a happily married woman a flower, she may warn you she's married and doesn't accept gifts from strange men. Give a flower to a woman who is NOT happy in her marriage, she might flirt back and increase your reputation with her.

It would be nice to implement this with the marriage system, so people don't just see, "Oh, Amulet of Mara; want to get married?" But instead you have to build a reputation FIRST and have an amulet of Mara. Like dating :)

Meanwhile, suppose you have a good reputation in town with a swordsman, and you get into a fight and he instantly comes to assist. Or, if you have a bad reputation, he may just watch you get into a fight with the town guards. Something more "dynamic" in the way people respond to you in the world is what would improve the game.

Also, if your reputation really sucks with someone, wouldn't it be nice to improve that with a gift? Even a dynamic quest system that says, "You want to buy from me again? Well, first you need to bring me ..." that impacts merchants.

Guys, you two are talking of interesting things, but I think it's too complicated to implement what you suggest here. It's all about personal tastes, interests, and preferencies. At the same time all these things can be easily found in real life social and personal relationships, can't they? In Skyrim we even have no opportunity to have a random talk to our companion, to ask what do they have on their mind, how do they feel...

It would also be interesting is if there was a dynamic quest request system build into the individual NPC dialog. For example, every NPC (based upon a reputation score) would want something retrieved; herbs and flowers for women, meads and ales for men, linens for priests, etc. As you bring them these items, they increase their opinion of you. Perhaps they will gift you a key to their home, or give you coin, etc.

What would be nice is if it incorporated "clutter" you find lying about, because a lot of that serves no purpose but to ... well ... CLUTTER.
