I just wanna play...

So. My game keeps CTD in random locations. I have LOOT. I've cleaned all my Plugins. I have SKSE and FNIS. I don't know what else to do. In addition to crashing, for some reason neither The Hunting Game or Beasts of Tamriel seem to be working. Also, despite downloading the SE editions I have three mods (SkyHide, Pickpocket100, and Quality Map) that Vortex says were created for the Original Skyrim and may not be compatible. I'm no mod master. I'm just a simple girl who wants to play a pretty game with sexy girls and a few cheats. I feel like Leeloo in the back of Korben's cab... Please help.

I still don't understand how people can run HUNDREDS of Mods. I can't figure out >80. :sad:

it takes time and patience. I'm running right now with around 300 mods, but that's after over a year of playing (and debugging). it's ~stable, but I still experience intermittent CTDs and game freezes.

 

Not sure where your CTDs are coming from. We have only a small handful of mods in common.

All I can really add is that iff you just started seeing this behavior recently, after installing some mod or mods, it's likely that installation caused the issue.

 

In general avoid installing LE mods. They are NOT the same. In very limited cases, they can be employed in SE, but more often than not, they can't.

 

Install only one* mod at a time, checking the game operation after to ensure things are going well before adding another mod.

As long as Oldrim mods only have textures they should be fine. Meshes need to be fixed with the SSE NIF Optimizer. But it sounds like the three plugins you have are form 43 plugins. Converting them is relatively easy (if you put the preparation aside)

 

You need:

The official Creation Kit for Skyrim SE. Download the Bethesda Launcher here: https://bethesda.net/en/game/bethesda-launcher

Install it and open it. On the left you should be able to find the Creation Kit for Skyrim SE. Install it.

To make your life a lot easier, download also: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20061 and follow the instruction on the description page.

Now, in the folder of your Skyrim executable, find the CreationKit.ini, open it and add the following lines at the end of the [General] section:

bLoadMultipleMasterFiles=1
bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1
aAllowMultipleEditors=1

You're almost done.

 

Open the plugin (yes, singular) you want to convert. Let's go with the Quality World map. Look for the IcePenguinWorldMap.esp. Set the x in the checkbox in front of it, click "Mark as Active" and load it. Save it. Done. Load up the game to check if it works (it should in 90% of the cases). Repeat as necessary.
