Jesugandalf
Don't complain, at least you've won a World Cup (yes, it was back in the 60s, but you've got one). We Spaniards always get knocked out in the quarterfinals, no matter the rivals. In the Euro 2000, we lost to France (2-1, and Raul missed a penalty in the extra time), but in the World Cup of 2002 we lost to Korea in the penalty kick shootout (yes, we were robbed two legal goals, but it's always the same). And this time I feel it's going to be the same again, so... Maybe we'll play England in the quarterfinals? :D
Malchik
Zidane's freekick was just awesome :D Given that Scotland didn't even manage to qualify after getting trashed by everyone and their grandmother, I feel at liberty to support whichever team sports the best haircuts (or plays the most exciting football, whatever) Which team does the grandmother play for? Maybe we can win that game!
Fishystick
I'll bet all the money in my pockets on Sweden. Ok, maybe not all my money, but atleast some of it, I mean, miracles can happen, right? Right? Btw, it doesn't matter that the french won the game, it's no shame since they are pretty good, sure, the english play good soccer too, but it's no shame! Morgoth
It is a shame seeing that the score was 1:0 for England over the entire regular playtime and France shot the other two goals within two minutes after the regular playtime was over
Maquissar
I was supporting England in that match too... I don't like France that much, especially after it kicked us out of France 1998 and beat us in the final matchin the European cup of 2000... "us" being Italy, that is :-P
Icefiddell
I think this might actually be the year for Spain, i know they've only played 1 match so far but they still won. As for Italy i think they have a very good chance to be honest, but every ones knows its gonna be a Bulgaria v Latvia final lol
.:Imrahil:.
the Netherlands never won the world cup either, and we had Cruijf! :( Tomorrow it's Germany-Netherlands... I'm going to school in my orange T-Shirt tomorrow, singing: 'Nederland, o Nederland, wij worden kampioeen!! Wij houden van Oranje...' etc. I think this might actually be the year for Spain, i know they've only played 1 match so far but they still won. As for Italy i think they have a very good chance to be honest, but every ones knows its gonna be a Bulgaria v Latvia final lol dude, Italy just player 0-0 against Denmark, and Denmark had the upper hand. I don't think Italy has such a big chance.
Fishystick
As I'm writing this, the score is 3-0, Sweden Vs. Bulgaria(hope that's how you English people spell it, cause that's how I spell it.) and 2 of them goals went in almost right after each other, it took about 30 secs from the 2-0 goal until the 3-0 goal, I mean, ain't Henrik Larsson just great? :D BTW: about France, I actually cried when Brazil lost -98, I was there, I cried, and I'm proud about it!(Woho lvl 2!) Maquissar
dude, Italy just player 0-0 against Denmark, and Denmark had the upper hand. I don't think Italy has such a big chance. Hey, one can still dream, can't he? ;) Besides... it isn't that unusual for a teamto be mediocre in the first phase and then get better and win the tournament!However... if Italy gets eliminated... I'll support Greece and Latvia ;)
Albareth
Supporting the English and the Netherlands... they have a decent chance at it too, I hope. Greece also has a pretty interesting and entertaining team this year if the game against Portugal was any judge of that. As for Italy - Denmark... well, the Danish have a very strong team this year, and I mean very, so there is no shame in losing to them. They might do some very surprising things this tournament. With no shame to the Swedish, who have an excellent team as well, I fear the teams qualifying from C will be Italy and Denmark. The winner... deff not German, despite the whole "the germans always pull through when it matters" myth they just aren´t strong enough this year, I´d say the French have the biggest shot at it, I´d throw the second best shot to nations like the English, Netherlands, Chezch Republic (sp?), Italy, Denmark perhaps... but in all seriousness I think the French pretty much have it in the bag unless some other team pulls a great stunt this year. :(
