KizuStrife Posted May 14, 2020 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I have been using a ps4 controller on fallout 4 for a while. I never had any issues with the buttons remapping themselves until recently. I will map them the way I want (the way they were before) and they will stay that way until I close fallout completely (end the program). When I load the game up again they are remapped. specifically it is changing: reload button from square to trianglejump from triangle to xchanges the pause menu button to I don't even knowchanges sprint and sneak as well I have a suspicion that it is one of two mods, either hide ui by fading signal or tactical distraction system by flipdeezy as this wasn't happening until I added those two mods. it might also be from the creation kit download I did, not sure really. I didn't use the creation kit, just downloaded it to play around with. Or it's something else? I have tried googling for the answer but it always gives me links on how to map controls or something like that because of the wording of my problem. Hoping to find an answer here, thanks everyone. EDIT So I did a fresh install and all that. It is still remapping my buttons, so my suspicion is this is more of a steam issue. I'll update this if I figure it out just in case someone else is having this issue. EDIT I used an xbox 360 controller and the issue did not occur. I have reported my issue to steam and will hopefully get a response. I prefer the ps4 controller, but am not so stubborn I can't change to a 360 controller instead. Just want to make sure they are aware of the issue. FINAL EDIT: This is for anyone else having this issue. Open steam big picture click the settings cog (upper right) click controller settings check the following: (all important for some reason)- guide button focuses steam- playstation configuration support- xbox configuration support- generic gamepad configuration support click back twice click library click fallout 4 click manage game click controller configuration click browse configs click community click any fallout 4 ones.
