Team behind mod is ridiculous. Will not help out common problems and instead spend all their time fixing "grammatical errors" that aren't even a problem and the way the dialog was written for a reason. They sit up on their high and mighty horse and think they're the Mod Gods because they attempted to fix a broken af Bethesda game.... Congrats, so have literally hundreds of people, you're not special. Do Not endorse these people and their way of treating others. God-complex's do not deserve to be fed and stroked. While you're at it, go play a different game that doesn't have a community filled with such nasty, hateful mod authors.

I was excited to see a newly updated mod list on the nexus... But I cannot recommend following this as it has you dropping all mods directly into the data folder which is a Bad Idea. Please use Mod Organizer 2. (The newest version is on the Skyrim SE Nexus page) There's a ton of support for it's semi-fiddly set up, but it's worth it. You'll never have to reinstall your FNV from scratch because you deleted something you shouldn't have, or a bad mod screwed something up.

This guide also recommends NVSR which is several years old, and contains outdated code. The famous Windows 10 update that broke everything broke that mod too. Use NVTF. It's the same mod but actually optimized for a current Windows 10 update.

This guide additionally recommends using Project Nevada, which is incredibly out of date. It's very buggy and whether or not it corrupts your saves can be up to luck. Strangely it also includes the Just Mods series, and lStewie's AI Tweaks which is one of the possible replacements for a decent chunk of PN features.

The use of LOOT as a start to sorting your mods is arguable, however it is not to be heavily relied upon. It routinely sorts mods above their dependencies and patches everywhere they shouldn't be.

It's too complicated to go over every single step, but a decent order for loading your mods would be:

-> Essentials (NVSE, JIP LN NVSE, NVAC, NVTF)

-> Bugfixes (YUP, UPNVSE, etc.)

-> UI (Vanilla UI or DarnUI are good choices)

->Textures (Large overhauls like NMC's and Poco's first, then flora (Vurt's), vanilla clothes retexs, weapon retexs, VFX, creature retexs, and finally smaller retextures, like chems/ammo/money/skill books/etc

->Body replacers and/or overhauls like Qwinn's Refined FNV Redesigned 3 (any companion looks overhauls should go after the main overhaul)

->Lighting tweaks of any kind

->Edited worldspaces

->Mechanics (any mods that changes how the game is played or adds new features. The melee tweaks and Just mods series for example, should go here)

->Restored content (mods like Uncut Wasteland, FPGE, LSO, etc, should go here)

->New Quest Mods

->Weapons

->New non-vanilla outfits

->mod with your LOD for all the above combined

->Weather

That load order prevents conflicts, and is one of the most stable ways to play the game, even with a healthy chunk of mods.

And I hate to do this but I feel it's necessary given the state of this guide... Please use a updated modding guide that recommends MO2. There's nothing it can't install and it keeps your vanilla game clean so you don't ruin it. My recommended guide is Viva New Vegas 2020 at vivanewvegas.github.io . It's a mostly vanilla modding guide and a great starting point to learning good practices for downloading mods not included in it. (It also lists great reasons not to use buggy old mods and gives functional replacements) Please be careful when following any mod guide, and especially this one. A buggy mod can corrupt your save file at any point and you'll lose 15+hrs of your favorite play through.
