nap613613
I downloaded an NPC mod from the nexus and I want to edit its appearance on the creation kit. I already edited the NPC, but I'm having a problem incorporating it into the game. Whenever I try to save it over the original file, it tells me I can't save over it because it's a master file or its in use. I'm pretty sure it's not a master file. Anyone have a solution. Thanks! GoodfellowGoodspring
Try saving with a different name? Ive edited mods in the past and overwrite the files so im not sure what the problem could be, the mod itself because the master file right so i dont know why it wouldn't let you save over it. I tried that, but even thought the mod was in the data files it would not work. It wouldn't even upload to the mod manager.
CarlCorey
A little like asking "are you sure it's plugged in" but ... You don't happen to have Skyrim running do you? That would constitute "in use". I also get that error when I look into the mod with TES5Edit while I'm editing it in the CK and forget to close TES5Edit before I try to save it.
