stars2heaven Posted December 30, 2012 Share Posted December 30, 2012 It's surprising that there are a lot of attempts to provide an alternative route through the Thieves guild quest line but no attempts to do so for another quest line of a similar character. In Markarth the player investigates a conspiracy involving the foresworn and is inevitably lead down the path of having to choose which bad guy to help. I don't want Madanach left alone to rule the forsworn or help him run a rampage through town potentially killing innocent people so that he can then continue his rampage from outside the walls. Nor do I want Thonar to be able to continue with his corrupt business practices, enslaving people to fuel his corrupt hold over Markarth and the Reach. I really wish there were a third option. A way to deal with both the evil cult leader Madanach AND Thonar with his corrupt/evil business tactics. There is enough material already in game to allow for a reasonable quest to be made, I'd think. Thonar has a journal which could be used to incriminate him. It's also obvious that the Empire is looking for a way to get rid of the influence that the silver-bloods have over Markarth. That was the reason for Margret's murder who was there at the behest of General Tullius. There are also other characters in town with similar interests and a quest modder could always introduce more. GoodfellowGoodspring Posted December 30, 2012 Share Posted December 30, 2012 ALL the quests need more options to cater for all the different playing styles players can play as, i would have liked to bring down the whole scheme and 'freed' Markarth but Skyrim just wasn't flexible enough..
