CyranGE
Hello guys.. . Im looking for anyone to help with editing a texture from a mod. .. could anyone recreate the tattoo from Hoth to make it standalone.. . I mean the body texture minus the body itself, just the deer and white lines over a transparent background https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16137 Edit: I tried making it myself, I installed the dds plugin for the gimp but the game doesnt recognize my dds and it gives ctd when wearing ingame. . . anjenthedog
I use paint dot net when I edit texture files. It'll open and save in the proper format. What I'd do to discombobulate that tattoo from the amalgam is1) open the DDS that includes the tattoo wrap(s)2) enlarge to 4x the original size (this is to increase precision in the border areas of the tattoo while striping the rest of the image away)3) use the magic tool and other block tools to encompass areas of the image to be removed. Click the Del key as needed to strip those areas from the DDS once their area of effect has been established.4) Once you have tediously removed the garbage around the tat, (including any interior spaces), reduce the image back to its original size.5) Save As to a new file (presumably "That tat I wanted to pull out of an existing character's texture" or something like that. When Paint dot net asks about the save format, just use the details it already has stored for the source image. Now you have a template you can drop into some other character's DDS wrapper, or conceivably use with some tat manager mod. This doesn't require an expert to handle it for you, it simply requires some elbow grease.
