lesleydecay
It all happened yesterday when I was trying to complete the main quest, Alduin's Wall. The blood seal wouldn't activate so I used the console command setstage to get the door open. I accepted one of the miscellaneous quests involving getting a follower to join the Blades. I fast traveled to Whiterun and entered The Drunken Huntsman. I sent Farkas home and got Jenassa as my follower. I paid her the 500 septims, but it didn't show the transaction in the corner like it usually does. When I talked to her again to give her some armor, she still had the dialogue to make her my follower. She then said that she'd join me if I got rid of my other follower. Thinking that Farkas was still mine for some reason, I exited and searched the streets to find him before he went to Lakeview Manor. I asked him to join me and he said that I already had someone (Jenassa didn't follow me out of the store). I reloaded an auto save and decided to give Wujetta in the Riften Fishery a healing potion so I could become Thane of Riften. She thanked me for the potion and paid me, but yet again the transaction didn't show in the top left corner. When I exited our conversation, she kept asking if I had the potion and her dialogue still had the option to give her one. Since Farkas was still my follower in the auto save, I asked him if his store has made any money. He said yes and gave me my share but it didn't show up. Usually after I ask him, the dialogue goes back to the other options such as wait and I need you to do something. I had to press Tab to exit. I don't know why this is happening to my miscellaneous quests. The only cheats I have used are tgm, setstage to open the door in the main quest, and qqq. My mods are a Dweemer house, essential horses, and follower horses. I think I explained my bugs clearly, but let me know if you need anything else. I've tried searching for solutions, but nothing comes up. I've exited the game and loaded a save, but it's still a problem. I will keep searching while waiting for answers and try disabling my mods (although I highly doubt they are the problem since my game worked fine when I added them). Thanks for your help. My operating system is Windows 8 x64 if this helps.
ninjawesome
I'm having similar problems with my games with quests not activating or updating, or dialog options not popping up. And ditto, can't find a solution anywhere. For me, using the console to force quests to move forward or conclude doesn't really solve the main issue. I have no clue how to solve it, unfortunately! Here's where I've been reading about console commands and IDs - Maybe it'll give you some help: CSList (a tool for looking at the raw data) and Skyrim Game Data (gives info about quests). Good luck! Thank you, I will look this over. I'm going to install the Unofficial Skyrim Patch to see if that helps. And good luck to you as well, I'm sure you're dying to explore Skyrim again like myself. :)
