Picucu
Hi, I'm relatively a noob at modding this game. But I installed CBBE and am using Leyenda skins 4k for skin and face textures, for physics I am using CBBE 3BBB and CBPC, I am also using ApachiiSkyHair and KS Hairdos SMP. The Problem: Whenever I go in game, my character's body shape wouldn't match what I had selected and built in body slide, and the animations would look off from where the model actually is. Not only that, the skin texture looks weirdly smooth and monotone almost. The face textures and mesh are also just default skyrim face textures.I am using vortex and I have already checked the file conflicts page. Leyenda skins is selected instead of CBBE default. I used body slide to build the body, (although I dont know if I did it right as I am using 3BBB and its a bit confusing). Thank you for reading, I hope that you could help me, and stay safe out there. Mod list attached.(its the loadorder.txt I dont think its all the mods but it should be most of them)Here's what the character looks like in char-creation (some times the char is wearing a prisoner rags bikini at the start some times not, this time its not)
anjenthedog
If you are using 3BBB CBBE (standard 3BBB-CBBE vs 3BBB Advanced or CBBE regular), then in bodyslide: For Body/Outfit, choose SE 3BBB Body Amazing (You can alternatively use fantasy, special, or physics, but I *know* the "amazing" version works, which is why I'm choosing that for this walthrough For Preset, choose a 3BBB CBBE preset. Do not select a UNP, BHUNP, or even a regular CBBE preset. from Bodyslide Settings, make sure the Advanced: Output Path setting is empty. Adding a location to that entry will send output from Bodyslide to the alternate folder specified in that entry (useful for building unique follower body meshes) . An empty entry means that the output will be directed to your player. tweak the preset values as desired. Save As your custom preset. (very important so when you need to fit some piece of armor ot clothing, you'll have a preset ready to fit the items to. Failure to do so now will mean that later you have to figure out what your player body actually looks like (from within Bodyslide)...trust me, that's a pita you want to avoid) Make sure to check each applicable entry when it shows a list of items which should be displayed under the Body/Outfit and presets section used with this body. For instance, using UNP resources for a CBBE character isn't usually going to work out very well, so why bother displaying those entries? It just clutters things up. If you're unsure, just check them all. You can go back later when your more savvy to restrict the displayed items. now that you've tweaked the player body and have saved your changes so you can access the same exact body later for clothing/armor fitting, Check the "build morphs" checkbox and then click "build" now select the applicable feet and hands (body/outfit) and build both of them (checkbox for build morphs still checked) Now open the game and load a save. Check your player's body. presuming everything went well and your body is "good to go", go back to Bodyslide and **fit your armor using the new body.**Alternatively, if you want to suppress breast size or nipple protrusion or whatever in your armor, Load your custom preset, modify it to suppress the nipples, flatten and expand/push up the breast a little as necessary to accomplish your goal (some armor would just flatten things, some clothing would add varying degrees of "push up" etc....one could imagine producing several variants on the initial body spec to cover various clothing related body alterations) , and then (critical step) save that one as "My custom body for fitting heavy armor" or something like that. (Do not build the body again. we'll use this preset to fit clothing/armor, not the naked body! But DO Save As this tweaked version of your body for use later) Then use that new variant on your custom preset to fit the clothing for which you want the breasts "damped" in impact. Thanks for all the help, I think I understand better how it works now, I got the physics to work and all that, but my character's skin and face textures still look very very weird. I also dont think the body shape looks right but I think I can deal with that myself. Do you know what I should do about the skin textures? Thank you so much for all the help.
anjenthedog
Afaik, while I'm no expert, I think skin texture issues are usually caused by using the wrong body type for the texture. There are two classes, one is CBBE, the other UNP. If you're working on a "UNP" type body (that includes BHUNP, UUNP, UNPB, UNP, etc) , then you'll need to use BHUNP for the body mesh. Otherwise the nipples end up somewhere other than where they're meant to be, and you get strange texture overlaps in the hip area. (does that sound familiar?) if that's what you're seeing, then it's probably that if you used 3BBB CBBE you should have used BHUNP, or visa versa. Can you provide a snapshot that shows the oddities *you're seeing? (If not, no big deal, but it would help to identify the artifacts) As for weirdness in shape...that's probably like you say, you need to tweak the sliders. Of course, if you're dealing with that odd UNP texture with CBBE mesh type issue, Adjusting the body in bodyslide is....difficult, since the textures don't match up with the topography. I generally have to spend about three times as much effort adjusting for "UNP" bodies in bodyslide because of that issue. As long as those meshes are manually moved into a character's appropriate mesh folder, it's custom texture will do the rest...as long as you chose the right (UNP or CBBE) foundation. I use CBBE for my character. Easy Peasy Pie But... many of my followers have UNP, SevenBase, UUNP< etc native bodies. I use BHUNP to {upgrade" them and try to match their bodies by selecting the "right" base BHUNP preset and adjusting it until I get a good approximation of the follower via comparison with snapshots of the follower in various poses (so I can see the details well). But in Bodyslide, due to the texture mismatch (Bodyslide uses a CBBE texture for overlaying the mesh, and afaik, only a CBBE texture) , I have to continually move the model around so I can see the profiles and match those (since the texture doesn't apply correctly) EX: Sha. Sha (or the sha version I installed) is SevenBaseUNP. She has no provided bodyslide. (as is the case for most of the UNP-ish characters) So, I began updating her by opening bodyslide and then selecting BHUNP 3BBB Advanced SMP Havok Path ygnord for the body/outfit and selecting the BHUNP 7BUNP preset, then tweaked its value til I got something close to the original unmodified SHA body. I then saved that preset (so I wouldn't have to go through it again) and built the body hands and feet, then some clothing once I verified that she looked ~right. In bodyslide, I had to output to a dummy folder (see settigns>>advanced), then copy the meshes from there into her active mesh folder. Textures also had to be manually updated, as is the case for pretty much any "older" follower that you decide to enhance/upgrade. But again, for my CBBE based player character, it's a matter of making sure to use a preset suitable for the type (CBBE, 3BBB , 3BBB advanced, etc) Not exactly sure how to handle things if you use BHUNP for a player body. My primary has been CBBE almost from day 1 so... 1) make sure to use only presets suitable for the body type you are working on2) If you're working on followers, And if they don't include a bodyslide spec AND are UNP(ish) you'll need to change the output path in bodyslide to output somewhere other than the player (the default behavior of Bodyslide if that advance output path entry is blank) and move their meshes manually, and modify their custom textures manually. PS> I have no idea about your face issues. That's not a bodyslide thing. Racemenu work sound necessary to fix that (although again, a picture worth a thousand words and all that). Maybe I'm doing a dumb and its something that can be changed in race menu, but I've dug around race menu for a while now and cant find the option to switch face textures. Here is an updated one after I applied the fix you recommended yesterday This is the skin mod I am using rnbelow are screen shots of my file conflicts page and the page in my windows file manager.https://imgur.com/a/ufJr5zNhttps://imgur.com/a/FX6ge2Whttps://imgur.com/a/xI5nL8sI appreciate all the help you have given up till now, thx for all the advice :)
anjenthedog
for your head/body discrepancy, what I'm seeing from your photo is just shadow-work. That is, I don't see any seam issue or even a texture mismatch. (mind you, the body *does* look a bit weird to me, but that appears to be your choices rather than some error...or at least rather than some error I can comment on.)1) Arms are really skinny2) Hands are skinny3) Face is aged Switching faces is a matter of installing racemenu presets. Once you have some, it should be as simple as opening racemenu, then choosing the "presets" tab at the top of screen, then click "load" and a folder of racemenu presets should open up. I have no idea why presets don't show up in that modal skyrim box that pops up when you initially choose "Presets", but whatever. Click Load, (F7 afaik) and choose a preset file. And fwiw, racemenu preset usually need not be "installed". Just download them manually, decompress using 7zip to a dummy folder, then deposit the .jslot files into the same structure shown in the compressed file. Some *do have to be installed or more thoroughly evaluated since they contain additional files that go elsewhere. (personally I find that adding presets manually as above to be less cluttering to my mod list, although I don't know if it really makes any difference over using the "standard" mod manager installation process) BTW, the location for racemenu preset files used in the game is /Program Files (x86)/ Steam/steamapps/commoon/Skyrim Special Edition/ Data/SKSE/Plugins/CharGen/Presets oh. one more thing. Racemenu preset is not the same as Bodyslide preset. just in case there's any confusion...

anjenthedog
No clue. Did you choose to make an old person's face? Maybe install some mod that adds an elderly look to your player? To be perfectly honest, this one is beyond my experience.

I think its just skyrim's default (?) face textrue, the face texture doesn't match the skin texture.
