Classify: Apocalypse

Well, this isn't one of those one story move on things I usually do. This time, it's different. It's gonna be like a full list of notes compiled into a book. The point is to figure out what has happened by connecting what's going on in the notes. Note: Not all the notes will really explain much. They're just for atmosphere.

I don't know how long it's been. How long I've been locked in this room. It feels like it's been an eternity since then. Since the apocalypse.

 

But none of that matters. I don't think I'll be here much longer. The food is gone and there wasn't any water to begin with. the only thing left is a bottle of whiskey which is almost empty. there's still power, but the lights shorted out on the day it happened. There's a TV in here, but no reception. Just static on every channel. I can't help but stare at it. The black and white rain that eats away at me. The white noise that seems to suck the sanity out of me.

 

Aside from this, there is one comforting thing. A small revolver. The .44 magnum that was given to me for my 18th birthday. "Use it well," I remember my dad saying. It felt like an eon ago. I promised him that I would. That I'd only use it as a last resort. And now, well, I intend to keep that promise.

Like it! Seems like Fallout, but still, I want to know what happens. Sounds like he blew his brains out though, but if he's the protagonist I don't think he has.

Well, there isn't a protagonist. The point of the story is to figure out what is going on in that time by all the letters. This is just the first of many letters I'm gonna make. And they're all gonna be by different people.

 

This is gonna much different from a conventional book. It's strange, I know, but I have fun writing like this.

cool it is very fallout-ish just one sliver of so many stories that could have been told in the post war world. It would be cool to keep this up and then have it placed in the game for others to discover as a set of notes.

there is lots of fan fiction that could be placed into the game like this. Or even complete short stories placed in books like in Oblivion.

cool start, expand on this characters life, whats he eating, does he want to leave. can he leave, who is lost, what his he fearing. how does it smell, all the little things.

Edit: I've started on the second entry. it's gonna be a journal fragment from a little before to a short time after the incident.

I need your guys' opinion on something.

 

I was wondering if I should turn this from a list of notes into an actual book. With a protagonist and all? Where the guy finds these letters that explain how the world had gotten that way.

 

Because you can only go so far with just a list.

Heh. I'm getting mixed feedback. SOme people on other forums say stick with the House of Falling Leaves style and keep it a list, others say do the one with the guy finding the letters, and then there's the ones who say "Whatever you feel like doing."
