~Setownership

So i'm now on my second play-thru of the game, and the most important mods I am using are:

Fo3 Balance Overhaul (lots of modularity here, using HIGH version for most)

Largely Increased Damage

Basic Needs

RI_Sleep(which does NOT conflict with Basic Needs)

and a bit further down the road, I'm also gonna be using:

The Drug Lord (did this get taken down?)

RobCo Certified

So with all of these mods that i guess you could call "hardcore" keeping me out in the field, i've been using the console command SetOwnership on various beds and storage units. This command sets the ownership to the player, so you can store stuff without it disappearing and sleep wherever you find a bed. I've moved into a few raider camps, and i have multiple caches of weapons/armor/ammo/food in strategic locations. Now, a run across the map doesn't really take all that long, but i like the idea of an ace up my sleeve out there in the wasteland.

This function would probably be pretty easy to implement as some sort of "push button" game function, but what makes sense?...a perk? a skill? a consumable?...what would be the supporting "real world" explanation to be able to setownership on things? Would you have a limit to the amount of containers/beds you could claim? 2? 4? Is it a quest reward? Deeds don't make sense....a consumable marker of some sort might be cool....like a head on a stick or some sort of personal symbol to temporarily mark your territory.

Would probably need a pretty advanced script extender to accomplish this, but it sounds feasable.

I like where you are going with this...

I think we could just get by with a push-button effect called 'Claim' and when you claim a container or bed, it will generate aggro if its previous owner is still alive and nearby.

When you claim a container or bed you get a message of 'You claim this >object< for your own and may now use it freely'

YUP

Could even make it more like morrowind where you get awoken in the night by someone trying to kill you or take their bed back lol

thanks, fixed it.

I did kinda want this post to serve as advertising for the listed mods, since they rock so verily, and work amazingly well in conjunction with eachother.

anyway, Im back into the GECK to create the Sledgehammer of Ownership.....
