Using Fallout NV animation files in Fallout 3?

Hey fellas,

I was wondering if it was possible to somehow take all the animation files from fallout nv and put them into fallout 3 if you know what im saying? Because walking, running and all those kinds of animations look a lot better in fallout nv compared to fallout 3.

I was wondering if it was as easy as copying some files from fallout nv directory and pasting and replacing the old files in the fallout 3 directory. Would that be possible?

Yes you can with a few exceptions, the first person animations for weapons because NV uses sighting nodes for iron sights and fallout 3 does not, but most others should fine.

Oh thats great, the only animations i was looking to put into f3 from fnv was jumping, walking and running. I dont care about 1st person stuff because i always play in 3rd person. Which files will i have to look for in fnv to put into f3?

Can i please have a little bit more info on what files i should be looking at?

I want fallout 3 to run, jump and walk like in fallout new vegas but i dont know what files to look at.

 

Atm im looking here in the .bsa browser in fomm:

meshes\characters\_male\

and the files in "_male" are e.g mtfastforward.kf, mtleft.kf, mtright.kf and mtfastright.kf. Are these the running/walking meshes?

 

Are there programs that could let me view these meshes?

 

EDIT: ok yes i was right these are the correct files. Now animations look like fnv in f3. Worked nicely

Can you list all the files that you changed? I'd like to do the same thing.

 

Edit: nvm I found them. Now I just need to figure out how to change them
