KevinQR
This might have been suggested, maybe even done before, but I thought of how interesting it would be to have a perk (cliche'd but adequate name: Here's Johnny! ?) or maybe just an action the player can execute that allows you to open or break down locked doors. I'm aware of Explosive Entry, this is just another way to make the Lockpicking skill useless. Basically, if you have a sledgehammer, axe, Super-Sledge, or any variation thereof, you can destroy (just unlock really) the lock on a door. To do this you'd need to meet the weapons proper handling requirements (Strength & Melee Level) and that higher quality weapons could open higher requirement locks. The ideal thing would be if it were possible (don't know much, if anything about modding, so it's probably not possible) to only open metal doors with a SuperSledge or Thermic Lance, and the "bunker'esque" sliding doors with a Thermic Lance only, and safes maybe not at all (maybe with the Thermic Lance?) Some weapons were added to the list just because they are big...and seem useful for smashing stuff. The items I originally thought to go with this idea are in bold font, because [censored] love bold font. This is how I imagined the weapon-lock levels, along with the weapon's vanilla handling requirements, and if possible door/container type: Shovel - Strength 3, Very Easy Locks, Wood/Junk. Fire Axe - Melee 75, Strength 5, Average Locks and below. Wood/Junk/Ammo/Containers. BumperSword - Melee 50, Strength 8, Average Locks and below. Wood/Junk. SledgeHammer - Melee 50, Strength 7, Average Locks and below. Wood/Junk/Ammo/Containers. Rebar Club - Melee 50, Strength 9, Average Locks and below. Wood/Junk. Chainsaw - Melee 75, Strength 7, Hard Locks and below. Wood/Junk. Super Sledge - Melee 100, Strength 8, Hard Locks and below. Wood/Junk/Metal/Ammo/Containers. Thermic Lance - Melee 100, Strength 7, Very Hard Locks and below. Wood/Junk/Metal/Ammo/Containers/Safe. Thank-you, and Happy New Year!
