itak365
There's a big game hunter or Australian in all of us, so why not wear their headgear? On a serious note, I've been trying and failing to find a good, outdoors-y hat that doesn't conceal the view of the head (any of the Ranger cowboy hats), but also isn't oddly placed on the head (like the sheriff's hat). And I've frankly figured the best solution would be a military, World War II-era Akubra worn by Australian soldiers. There's a lot of very good reference pics online, so I'll post a few here. http://www.imfdb.org/images/5/5a/Vlcsnap-2010-06-26-14h35m22s240.jpghttp://www.imfdb.org/images/c/cf/Vlcsnap-2010-06-26-13h37m28s52.jpghttp://www.imfdb.org/images/8/84/Vlcsnap-2010-06-26-14h19m42s49.jpghttp://www.akubratrader.com/akubra/images/1601kl.jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/80/Akubra-style_hat.jpg/250px-Akubra-style_hat.jpg The reason I posted a bunch of Kokoda images was because it sort of gets right the sort of weathered and battered hat I'm going for. The last two are more for what it looks like clean and intact. I think it would be fairly straightforward actually making it, like taking the Ranger Brown Hat, resizing, reshaping the brim, then retexturing, though I personally haven't done modeling myself.
