zcul
Apalmemnom has received a formal warning. This user has now received 2 formal warnings. The warning was given for the following reason: Flame baitingBelittling and criticising another member’s content solely based on personal dislikes and with the intent of provoking angry responses Comments 22 May 2020 - 01:05 AMThose are not realistic : lamellar and coated plates should have wider arm openings as it would restrain the moves in fight ; the shoulder protections in most of the armors are too small, and the shields would be better without the edge reinforcments, since it's the most hit parts of those kind of shields, it would be more interesting not to have them to trap the enemy weapon in the wood. You're welcome.. 23 May 2020 - 02:12 PMAaaah, I love how a little troll spawns a shitstorm like this, people do really take the internet too seriously ^^ And now, for some replies : @*username* : For bringing constructive criticism with a bit of condescension, I guess ? :p @*username* : I made the most realistic mods ever made, the world is just not yet ready to see them ! @*username* : Hmmm, tasty, wanna smell too ? @*username* : Thanks you, so the mod should be called "Realistic looking armors" :p The "covered in s***" is a common misconception of the middle ages spread by Hollywood's inaccurate "Historical films", like the desaturation and darkening filters you'll see where in fact, people were very clean (like any other period in fact), and loved bright colors, often at the expanse of good taste. Blended Roads is innacurate has it depicts century old roads on brigt new shiny bridges ! :D @*username* : Yep, that's nitpicking, but without real conviction behind it ; after all, ther's tons of depictions of fighters using lamellar armors without pauldrons, cost has always been a thing. I was just pointing out how one should be careful when calling something "realistic" , as it's really, really hard to make something 100% realistic without making mistakes. Thanks to you for not being over agressive like some others :D @*username* : Realism and historical accuracy are linked, since people in history experimented and optimized protections over centuries, so, if you want to make a realistic armor, you have to take historical references. Also, if I wanted to criticize the historical accuracy, I would have pointed the fact that spectacles helmets were not that common, that scales armor didn't existed in scandinavian and anglo saxon culture, that kind of thing. ^^ @*username* : According to the number of people who usually praise the so called "realistic mods" and spits on all the artists who originally worked on the game, I'd think that most people would thinks that it should be a medieval simulator. But I'm wrong, right ? @*username* (damn, that's a hard name to spell) : Speakin, the truth, yeah, yeah *cough* of course, eh...*wistle while dodging away* @*username* : Yep, being condescending was not necessary, but it was to make people overreacting to this post (and it worked) @*username* : Make maces and axes, there's enough swords mods like this ! @*username* : Not "Furry mod author", but "Furry mod converter" would be more appropriate, assuming that every anthropomorphic animal is a furry, which is not my point of view. Anyway, any person with an historical degree, working in a museum and mastering armorsmith can talk about realism. @*username* : MASTER a**hole, please ! But hey, if I really was one, I would have just said that this mod is shitty, that those armors are poorly made, that the textures are blurry as hell, without downloading nor endorse it, and you'll have the strict opposite of what I'm thinking about this mod.
