TheRealBlack
hello,I am working on a red vault overall, but I have some problems with the retexturing of the normal map. The overall looks too "shiny", because i lost the alpha chanel during the convert. In the other case i have to erase the selections from the files, to modify the colors...The seam in the back looks already good without the numbers, but how to reconvert the file in *.dds? Does anyone know a tutorial in which the retexturierung of Normalmaps (with alpha channel) is shown? We should not start from scratch to create a Normalmap ... shouldn't we? I am sorry , English is not my mother tongue, I hope you understand me anyway. :thanks: and a Happy Coding to all!

Rekicker
Just add an alpha layer (you can do it in the Layers tab with Photoshop... not sure on GIMP or PhotoImpact). Color the alpha layer in all black and then, very sparingly, add dark greys and very dark greys where you want a little shine. Anything approaching white is usually too much... but of course, it's a matter of taste.
