Right Arm Stuck, Can't Hit Anything

Okay, so, last night I got a bit of a weird glitch after reloading a saved game, wherein my Courier's right arm was stuck, stretched out, slightly below shoulder level. At first, I thought, "Oh, that's odd," and went about my gaming. I reloaded it a few times and it appeared to fix itself. Today when I started playing, the glitch came up again, so I went though my saves until I found one without the glitch. Apparently the glitch was not actually fixed, because when I was a attacked by a Freeside thug, and I attempted to shoot them, before they got into melee range, my right arm shot out again, along with the pistol. All 6 shots I took in the VATS missed, even at 95% hit chance. During the final shot, I was shown the scene from a third person perspective behind the thug, and saw the bullet strike the ground about 4 feet to my right. I haven't been able to find a fix to this bug yet, and my brain is very fried. I use the VATS very heavily and ranged weapons more-so. I have not been able to test the glitch more in depth, such as melee weapons or two handed guns, testing it while crouching, or by playing an unmodded run, nor have I had the heart after pouring so much time into the game and run the risk of finding out that it's unfixable (I've beaten OWB and DM).

Edit 1: Loaded a game from before I had started DM (so glad I use a bunch of redundant saves) and have found the glitch to not exist. Will now check the game post-DM without mods.

Edit 2: Loaded a post-DM game without mods (after removing the in-game items created by those mods). Removing the mods, most of which had not caused problems before completing DM, did not fix this glitch. Furthermore, the effects of this glitch occur outside of VATS as well as in.

Edit 2: This makes me believe that DM itself is the problem, specifically, finishing it. None of these problems occurred during my play-through of the DLC, only after, and only after I had reloaded a save that was post-DM completion.

Edit 2: I have already determined a course of action if a fix for the glitched saves cannot be found. I will enter one of the glitched saves and make a list of all of the items I earned in the DLC and use console commands in a non-borked save to obtain these items. Unfortunately, I won't keep any achievements, achievement progress, character progression, or that warm glow of satisfaction you get from completing a storyline :wallbash: . I don't trust console commands enough to mess with anything other than items. Sadly, I'm not going to be all that surprised if this is the only "fix," seeing as while playing the last part of the DLC, I wound up having my progression entirely blocked because an event would not properly trigger :wallbash: , and had to resort to alternate methods to even finish. (I don't know how to do the spoiler hiding thing, so I'm not going to go into details and ruin it for those players who haven't finished the DLC.) Does this seem like a viable (kinda) solution(?), or is it more trouble than I think?

Does anyone have any ideas at all as to how to fix this glitch?

Thanks in advance for the help (or even empathy)

Edit 3: My friend's younger brother had a suggestion that I tried as soon as I got the chance, and have thouroughly checked out. His suggestion was rather simple, but probably should have been an obvious solution, or attempted solution. His suggestion, which fixed the problem on the first try and has not stopped working, was to cripple the bugged arm and get it fixed by sleeping/visting a doctor. He actually knew, when he told me, why this should work. His explaination was something like "It'll reset the animation." I think he was probably right as to why, because it did work, the fix was extremely easy to pull off, and I haven't had any problems with it since.

Hopefully no one else will have this problem, but, if they do, maybe this will save them hours of frustration.
