Kon Fuzed
I am a little bit computer illiterate compared to many of you I'm sure. That's why I need technical help. Okay, my version of Fallout 3 is D2D on a windows Vista Home Premium. I'm not sure if that makes a difference for fallout but I know it does for some games. Anyway I am having trouble accessing my Data folder properly. Whenever I click on on the Folder marked Fallout3.data It cannot open it in any of the applications (notepad etc..) or even open up a little sub-menu into meshes and sounds and so forth. Now I could spend hours struggling with this and learn something valuable about computers and life in general, or I can spend two minutes feeling like an idiot and just ask people who know. Is this even the right file to be looking in when I want to install mods? Also I can get into the notepad document marked FalloutPrefs where it is possible to change things like bEnableProfile=0 to bEnableProfile=1 (not that I would want to considering I don't know what it does) but cannot find the one about invalidating older files. Where is it/do I simply make it up? Thanks. I know this is just the beginning. Control your LOL and don't tell me to buy an XP

Where is it/do I simply make it up? It's not recommended to use archiveinvalidation.txt Just use the FOMM (fallout mod manager) to check the mods you want to use. Create a shortcut of FOMM.exe to your desktop and for the same icon as fallout 3, right click it and goto properties and change icon (find the icon in your /programfiles/bethesda/fallout 3/ or wherever you have it installed)LINK TO MOD MANAGER To change your bfinvaladate to 1 find your fallout.ini in "\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3" and open it with notepad. Press f3 to search for invalidate, and then simply change it to 1, close and save it. Enjoy playing man
