Jiggalopuff Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Hai Guyz, I just beat Alduin with my first avi, this is after I became Arch-mage, Harbinger, and head thief. I am now bored with my destructionist, and wish to start a new character, whom I will most likely get bored with much sooner. Does Dawnguard add much gameplay to lower-level games, or is it simply geared towards higher-evel characters?
blackninja50 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 You can play threw Dawnguard at any level, I played threw at level 20 with little trouble.
Zalman1337 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Dawnguard is more of a nagging annoyance until you fully complete the questline because vampires will start attacking cities whenever you fast travel to them if it's night when you arrive. It doesn't help that any non-essential (and non-guard) NPCs nearby have no sense of self preservation either. They can also attack during the day if you fast travel somewhere outside a city then manually go into the city and rest at an inn or something (although these are just the vampires that are sent to kill you every x number of days). Rennn Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 It's pretty good for low-attention spans. There's a lot of quick story events and you're thrown into pretty scenery quite often. I went through the whole thing quickly without losing interest.
billyro Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I lost interest once I got to the new worldspace. Dawnguard doesn't have enough new, exciting content for me to keep playing it.
Jiggalopuff Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 What is this worldspace you speak of?
Rennn Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 What is this worldspace you speak of? It's called The Vale. It's half underground, half above ground, with a lot of Falmer villages and glowing flowers. There are some glowing animals as well. It's pretty cool, but many of the assets are recycled and modified. There's also a new worldspace called the Soul Cairn, but thankfully it's quite short, since the Soul Cairn is just boring.
Georgiegril Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 You might try game-enhancing mods like Skyrim Redone. It makes the game more challenging, especially at lower levels. I'm just now at level 70ish, and it feels more like level 30.

But I agree that the Soul Cairn was terribly boring...and all it adds are collection quests with no fast travel, no map indicators and hell...no map. Terrible. Wandering around for 5 hours getting attacked by skeletons every 30 seconds isn't my idea of fun.
