[SOLVED!] CTD due to music!

Its been 4 days that i had skyrim CTD symptoms. The nature of my CTD seem pretty unique. It happens even before adding mods. The version I had is the latest of 1.8.151.0.7 (SKSE 1.6.5 rel 33).

 

Initially i suspect MODs, PC hardware spec no good, etc. I have been pulling hair for 7 days. Finally narrow down to the MUSIC files.

It is also not due to Control Panel, Sound changing its properties in Advanced tab. to 16 bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) but I highly advise to do so.

 

For the sake if anyone facing CTD, maybe my solution FIXES the issue. The answer is the Music Files in data folder.

 

Solution

1. Backup a copy of the Music folder found in ..\skyrim\Data\

Install "Disable MUSIC by Category" from this Nexus Link manually.

Thanks to Fleedar in converting the music files to empty audio tracks.
