corrupted hand textures

I am not sure how I did it, but during the course of play today, all the male NPC's hands in my game had their hands turn purple (I had set up the Night Striker Armor 2 earlier but it seemed to work fine)I went and removed one of the textures in a Characters folder called upperbodymale, which caused their arms and hands to turn purple, so I restored that which fixed just the arms, but not the hands. I am not sure how I should go about restoring the hand textures though, as there it seemed to happen all by itself during a playing session and there are no texture files in my trash can. Any suggestions?
