nphaintgay Posted December 12, 2008 Share Posted December 12, 2008 im fimmaliar with what it is but, im trying to use allot of weapon mods at once which are most likely conflicting with eachother now that the gecks out am i just waiting for those weapon mods to be updated? or is this something i can do with the geck to say change item codes or soemthing, id really like to use all the weapons i find, thanks. Baelkin Posted December 12, 2008 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Waiting for the modders to update their own work is going to be futile as no-one is going to do it - it's not the modder's problem that their work is incompatible with other people's work and seeing that every end user is going to have different mods running, any effort doing it will probably wasted due to mods constantly conflicting with eachother. The only realistic scenario where "synching" mods will actually happen is if people are part of a specific modding group, who per default make sure that their own mods don't conflict. However, you can make sure mods are compatible yourself using FOMM and, maybe, the G.E.C.K provided that the mods in question are .esp based and not just "overwriting" mods that overwrite the default textures or models. BanjoOz Posted December 13, 2008 Share Posted December 13, 2008 If it's any consolation, I'm trying/planning to make my mods (and those of others - especially weapon mods) compatible with each other. With FOMM, it was "simple" in trying not to duplicate FormIDs and records... I still need to figure out how the GECK avoids compatibility problems (if at all!) when it auto-generates FormIDs for new items, records, etc. (not sure you can even edit them by hand in GECK!).
