Can't save changes to preferances

I was looking at mods and saw a body replacement mod i liked, so i clicked on it and was sent to page saying i had to change my adult content preference. so i went to my preferences made the change and saved it but when i went back to the page i got the same message. I checked my preferences and it was reset to black adult content again. tried several more times, logging in and out to see if that made a difference and still cant get changes to save. please tell me what i'm doing wrong.
