The flail.. A possible possibility

Ok, so you know the medieval weapon, the flail? I am requesting that someone accomplish something i could not- rigging the physics for it. I have an idea of how this would happen though, and I would gladly make the meshes/textures.

I know that it couldn't be too CPU-demanding, because i swing my sword and hit the chains/vines all the time, and I don't get any lag. and I know there can be things attached to chains, because there are shackles on the ends of the ones in your prison cell. The only think puzzling is how you would rig it so that the chain attaches to your handle..

I don't think it would be an off-balance feature of the game, since there is already hazards with physics-based objects (logs, the swinging traps), and you would simple have better flails swing faster, giving more damage and speed to the wielder.

Once again, the only thing I request is that someone could help me with rigging the chain to the weapon handle, and I'm sure I could accomplish the rest on my own (if you wouldn't want to help with the rest), and I understand that this has been requested before, and people's responses were simply, " it would require too much CPU" but i strongly disagree with that, and even if so, I am sure my computer could handle it, and I think that anyone who suffers fps loss from the use of this weapon could either A: deal with it, or B: simply not use it.

This idea is definitely worth a try in my opinion, and I hope someone may agree with me :D

I'm terribly dissappointed by this.. The system of Oblivion yet again proves to fail me. CryEngine > Havok. I can attach physics-based objects to weapons in crysis, but too bad there are no melee-based weapons in that game. I love medieval games so much more..

Thanks for your replies, and both of you were equally helpful. I realise the limits of Oblivion now, and I will most likely not download that mod, for the sake of preventing an undue heartache.. So once again, thanks :)
