fieldwalker
Have attempted Josef Grey's Makeup face retexture several times now and I cannot get this work of art to work... This is my first mod install Read Oblivion and FO3 FAQs on mod installs and creation and appropriate stickies. ArchiveInvalidation.txt file with file correct file path copied from Josef's readme is in my FO3 folder Changed 0 to 1 with the bArchiveInvalidate= from the fallout_default.ini file Checked and re-checked file paths within the data file (textures -> characters -> female -> ....) I have un-installed and re-installed the game a few times, just in case it might help, and then waited a day before trying to reapply the mod so that time stamps would always put Josef's texture files with a more recent time stamp I am running out of ideas here to make this (or any) mods work... Is there potentially something else different in the canadian release of this game? Does it matter that the file everyone calls fallout.ini in my game is called fallout_default.ini? (I tried re-naming it to fallout.ini, but the mod still didn't work) Is there a minimum time for the time stamp? - say a week or longer before the time stamp would recognize that the added files are newer? My game intalls and mod install are only about 48hrs apart. Do I have to delete savegames when re-installing to get the mods to take? Should't I just be able to load a savegame and see the mod? This is the last step I have not tried because there was a few savegames I wanted to keep... It all comes down to: do you have any other guesses?? Thanks for your time... Smosh
I blame Bethesda for having so many ini files. You do not change the fallout_default ini in the Main folder. You need to change the FALLOUT.ini that is found in MyDocuments/MyGames/Fallout3/

kungpoo
I DIDN'T FIN, opps, caps lock :)I found the bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 and changed it to 1 and THEN it worked and I also was in the wrong folder so that didn't help. There is no file by the name I have been reading aboutI moved the textures everywhere but until I set this to 1 it did nada Great stuff here folks. I have been playing the xbox version for 200 hrs at least and now to do all of these hacks/cheats it's soooooooo sooooooo different I wish they would add 'some' cheats to the xbox too Thanks
