bserrett
I want the killer rabbit from "Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail" A mutant rabbit is plausable to exsist in the wasteland, right?
sumyungai
Well dogs, like many other non giant man-eating animals, are excellent scavengers / pack hunters. As long as there are dead things, there will be scavengers of all sizes. The smaller something is, the less it has to eat to survive / multiply. You'd probably see a lot of rats, for one thing. Also, if the environment is capable of supporting human life at all, it's capable of supporting at least some plant life. There is plenty of plant and animal life that can survive with even an extremely contaminated water source. For example: This is the Chernobyl plant now:http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/img/chernobyl_sarcophagus.jpgActually a pretty interesting article I stumbled on looking for the pic:http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/chernobyl_environment.shtmlWhile having big things to kill that are trying to eat you is fun, I just think some more docile wildlife would balance things out better. Maybe more plants overgrowning the previous civilization as well.
cobalt262
....The only reason brahmins are around is because the domestic cows were sheltered and fed by humans.... .....I have no idea why normal dogs are in this game though. Um, haven't you pretty much answered your own question - they were sheltered and fed by humans. Dogs have been companions, guards and food for humans for thousands of years - no reason it would change in 200 years after the bombs dropped, so dogs would have been kept, raised etc. by survivors. These dogs (along with others surviving naturally) would lead to a growing wasteland canine population, what with all the tasty mole-rats, humans and other stuff lying around. I'd like to see a proper Dog-Faction introduced into the game: Encountering actual packs of wild dogs - led by strong Alpha's, having dens (which could have some decent loot from victims) hidden around the wasteland, attacking other wildlife, all that good stuff. It would also be great to see some mutated cats, I think someone mentioned them before, no fur though - their skin has mutated to survive the wasteland and ends up like some sort of scale-type armor - think of the prison dog-creatures in Chronicles of Riddick for comparision. davidzaccaro
well the thing is that we need more creatures to Vary i am tired of seeing Mole-Rats and Not RATS like in Fallout 1 there needs to be more creatures around Neutral and Enemies too
spineynorman
well I mean we have mutant everythings, except dogs. Dogs are just dogs. Cows have two friggin' heads and humans have all their skin fall off (and occasionally trees sprout from their heads). Considering how much dogs change just when we mess with them, try to imagine what they'd look like after decades in the Fallout universe.
cobalt262
Good point, no reason we can't have normal dogs and mutated dogs. - actually the thought of being hunted by a pack of those Chronicles of Riddick prison beasts is rather entertaining.... at night, when all you can see is their eyes! :ninja: We definitely need Rats - Why? Because my character is hungry (basic needs mod) and dammit I want some of Ma's Rat Pot Pie!, with a couple of Rat-onna-stick for Charon.
kazrasm
One mutant I'd really like to see is the Mutant Crocodile. Some examples:http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_crocodilehttp://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/.../5/54/Croc2.jpghttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Croc1.jpg Wanamingos and rats from Fallout 1 & 2 would be nice as well. bonnonon
I want the killer rabbit from "Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail" A mutant rabbit is plausable to exsist in the wasteland, right? I second this idea. I think that no matter what wildlife mod is made that every animal should be in a separate mod so we get to choose... I would rather NOT have sharks in a river and and giant lions attacking me. How are the supposed to reproduce? How many lions are in the Zoo? Etc. I would also like to see some cave rats or variants of creatures. Not all of them should attack. * However I would like to see some fun mods as well mutant turtles... possibly ninja's. Or at least a turtle that uses a sword or stick to attack you...

cobalt262
yeah i just say We Need More Wild Life :D and by the way Death Claw what kind of animal is it¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿? Eh. it depends on what you consider true canon, but the deathclaws in FO3 look to be FO1 reptile-based Deathclaws The Original FO1 Deathclaws were the result of Genetic experiments by the US on Chameleons to create a bezerker super soldier. Fallout 2 Deathclaws were the same as FO1, with some being experimented on by the Enclave to be quasi-intelligent foot soldiers. I think somewhere in Fallout Tactics it talked about experiments on Racoons, resulting in intelligent powerful creatures that later managed to escape when they were supposed to be wiped out when the experiment was ended. That game had hairy, intelligent (all of them able to speak and think on a near-human level) Deathclaws. The Fallout Vault entry for Deathclaws explains it best. - strangely, the concept art for Fallout 1 (which had Reptile-type Deathclaws) was of a mammalian hairy creature that would fit with the experimented-on Racoons from Tactics
