elegantexcalibur
I recently used the Nexus Mod Manager to add only one mod to my game, the Dagi-Raht Khajiit race, and now my crosshair, compass thing, and captions will show up. Nor will the "____ has been discovered", the indicator to level up, and the indicator to press a certain key (like E) to do something like when I look at a sack or corpse. And it makes it pretty hard to tell which NPC is named what when I'm just looking at them. @.@ I recently changed graphic cards due to horrible lag when playing Skyrim, so I know it can't be that. And my computer passes on everything else. And if memory surves me right, this only happened after using the NMM.Anyone got an idea on what's causing this and how I can fix it? And yes, I've checked my game's options. [Apologies for posting this in the wrong forum. I thought since it only seemed to happen after I added mod manager, that it was a result from that. x:]
AmericanJackal
First of all, you may want to make sure that it is not the mod creating these issues. Start two new test games -- one WITH the mod, and one without. (Make sure you use NMM to uninstall the mod for the one without.) If the problem persists after uninstalling, then you know you have a problem with Skyrim. If the problem persists only on the games WITH the mod, then you know there is something faulty with the mod. If you know it is the mod, your first step should be to go back to the mod page where you got it, and read the description to make sure the author didn't provide any troubleshooting instructions or warnings about the issue. Then, check the comments section and go back a few pages to see if other users have had similar problems, and if a fix was recommended. If you really want to use the mod, I suggest getting a copy of your Papyrus logs (the tail end should do), and provide it to the mod author in their mod thread or comment section, and explain your issue (politely). They may have a quick fix.
elegantexcalibur
Thing is, I'm a bit afraid to remove the mod due to it being a race and my only save atm uses the race. I don't wanna break Skyrim and have to start my save all over. x.x And from what I've seen through all of that mod is that no one with the mod has reported to have this problem with it, nor is it shown in the list of known bugs. MShoap13
Try verifying your game cache through Steam. If that doesn't fix it, uninstalling the mod to rule it out (even though it's very unlikely to be due to said mod assuming you installed it properly along with all of it's requirements) is the next step. bigv32
You could use the coc console command to go to riverwood etc straight from the main menu. This will allow you to do the test and not bother a save. Also, post you load order. Have you used Boss?
